With an annual production of over 7,000,000 plants, John van Oosterwijck is one of the larger players in the perennial plant market. With more than 35 years of experience in the industry, they know better than anyone how to respond quickly to the ever-changing market. With this knowledge, Oosterwijck decided it was time to introduce their own perennial plants to the market through a unique concept. For this, Oosterwijck sought a new concept name and a distinctive brand identity. This was a great challenge for Designstar!
Theme Colours Linked to Seasons
During the initial brainstorming session between Oosterwijck and the designer from Designstar, the first proposals were created. These proposals were then presented to Oosterwijck through a brochure. A striking element of the concept is the theme colours, which indicate the best season or location for each plant. Additionally, a special icon in the upper right corner of the label distinguishes the different plants by their unique characteristics. These are handy and user-friendly features for the consumer.
Collaboration
The communication between Oosterwijck and Designstar is smooth, resulting in beautiful products. After designing the labels, Designstar also got to design and produce photo cards, banners, theme cards, and price cards. Moreover, a flyer was created to match the concept, which could be presented at various trade fairs. Photography of the presentation table and various individual products was also taken care of. To support the perennial plant concept, Designstar is currently in the process of launching a completely new website.
Conclusion
By providing all the products above with a consistent appearance, Oosterwijck's perennial plant concept can be distinctly presented. All in all, a beautiful and successful project!
